i.e......for men atleast.

This is hilarious. I wish i lived in Copenhagen ;-)
I was actually in Denmark last weekend and was forced to drive all the way from Ă˜dis to the huge mall in Kolding...i guess around 20 km one-way. Lot of factors working against me in that road trip:
a. Driving on the wrong side of the road (Or as Danes & Americans would call it...the right side!)
b. It was raining and the road-spray from these 16-wheeler monstrous trucks was making me lean out of the window in order to keep an eye on the road!
c. My lovely wife and MIL trying to actually drive the car sitting on back seats!
All-in-all an uneventful trip apart from driving on the kerb for around 50 metres and shifting gears downwards once by mistake ;-) Actually I am kinda proud of myself.
Log ud for now.

Borat, Covent Garden, BGT et al
Had quite a busy week and weekend. Loads of activities….and not just work for that matter!
Got to see Borat in Kingston Odeon on Saturday….and Loved it! The audience was going bonkers for the lovable Kazakhstani, very offensive, crude, and revealing a lot about America's dark underbelly at the same time. The movie has faced severe criticism from a host of individuals and institutions for being anti-semitic, racist and promoting homophobia but in my opinion, it is none of these. Sacha Baron Cohen definitely manages to prompt some people to show/present their true beliefs and prejudices on camera. There is an interesting article on Borat’s unwitting co-stars in The Age – Australia. It seems that the three fraternity boys are suing Cohen for their scene in the movie. C'mon guys…..you dug your own grave!
First time in Covent Garden – Rikke decided to attend the BBC Good Food Show in London last weekend. Now….no offence to the likes of Gordon Ramsay & Nigel Slater but I am not a proponent of seeing other people presenting their culinary skills on television ….forget about watching them live (and making me delve further into my inferiority complex)! Having nothing better to do, a friend & I decided to take a long walk around London West end. We saw quite a few performers in Covent Garden and one of these guys…a street magician by the name of James was astounding. Not only was he quick with his hand but also very comical, though in an offensive sort of way! Apart from testing out few beers in a smelly pub called ‘The Sussex’, we managed to buy a decent amount of books from Borders and one of the old book stores on Charing Cross. So I have my hands full for the next few weeks with ‘The Left Hand of Darkness’ by Ursula LeGuin, ‘The Satanic Verses’ by Rushdie, ‘Hyperion’ by Dan Simmons and ‘High Fidelity’ by Nick Hornby.
I am booked for The Be Good Tanyas show in Royal Albert Hall for today evening. It is a Canadian band comprising of three women who sing bluegrass/folk kinda music….very much like ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’ Soundtrack. Their act is supported by a Kathryn Williams gig. This is what The Times said about her – “She should be paid a million pounds a year to never stop singing". Wow….I am really looking forward to this.
Apart from that, I am still on with my jogging routine. Have received my base layer and running jacket from Wiggle and they are awesome. If that doesn’t help me keep up with my routine, I don’t know what will! I am flying to Denmark tomorrow morning….let’s see what happens to my resolve in deep down Viking country! J

The Fastest Indian
Came across my blog after more than an year's hiatus and thought will punch in a few words. First of all....what was I thinking? The name of the blog! Well it is not bad, but I could have done better!
After prolonging any sort of physical exercise for the last few years, I finally have decided to give it a go. I went for a quick jog next to Thames last week....all the way to Horse Fair bridge in Kingston. Then, last Sunday it was a 12 km long jog/fast walking across Thames - starting from Surbiton, all the way around Hampton Court Golf Club and Hampton Court Palace and back home. It was quite a fulfilling outing but I would prefer not to do that very often :-) My legs ached for 3 days in a row!
It started getting really cold around here so I wanted to use that as an excuse to skip the running in the evening but my lovely wife wouldn't let go so easily. So I was prompted to buy some proper running clothes and base layers from Wiggle. Now that I have spent some really hard-earned quids on stuff that sounds like it is referring to water pumps than clothes (Aquaduct, Hydrowick), I better keep up the jogging!
Also need to work on my Running playlist on iPod. Yesterday while jogging, when I was just getting into the rhythm, the ipod skipped to 'Hawkmoon 269' by U2! Now U2, no-matter how awesome they are, is not a band you would like to listen to when you need some hard, pumping stuff like 'Anxiety' by Papa Roach/Black Eyed Peas. :-)
Will report more on the progress soon.
